Scott, Margaret (1935-2005)

Margaret Scott was born in Bristol, England. She came to Tasmania in 1959, where she taught at the University of Tasmania from 1966-1989. Her chief academic interests being 17th-century drama and modern Australian poetry. She produced a considerable body of work, which included poetry, novels, and essays. She received the Australia Councils Writers Emeritus Award in 2005.
