The Rugmaker of Mazar-e-Sharif was written by Najaf Mazari and Robert Hillman. But, it is obviously Najaf's story and traces his journey from Afghanistan to Australia.
He has been reunited with his family and now owns a rug shop in Prahran, a suburb of Melbourne. He became an Australian citizen in April 2007.
