de Kretser, Michelle (1957-)

Michelle de Kretser is an Australian novelist who was born in Sri Lanka. She was educated in Colombo, Paris and Melbourne.  While working as an editor for Lonely Planet travel guides she wrote and published her first novel The Rose Grower.  She was also a founding editor of the Australian Women's Book Review (1989-1992).
